The Fulbright U.S. Student Program is the largest U.S. exchange program, funded by the U.S. Department of State and awarding 1,900 grants to students and young professionals each year, plus another 4000 to more senior scholars and professionals.
The Fulbright U.S. Student Program is open to US citizens, from graduating college seniors up to final-year PhD students, and usually funds one academic year of self-designed study, research, community engagement, and/or teaching abroad. There are more than 140 participating host countries, and language requirements and program details vary by host country and Fulbright program.

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program is designed to give recent B.S./B.A. graduates, master's and doctoral candidates, young professionals and artists opportunities for personal development and international experience. Each year, Fulbright awards 1,900 grants for 9-12 months of self-designed study, research, creative projects, or teaching English in one of over 140 participating countries.
Fulbright U.S. Student grants are administered by the Institute for International Education (IIE) with the goal of encouraging cultural exchange and mutual understanding through engagement in an "atmosphere of openness, academic integrity, and intellectual freedom."
Eligibility
The Fulbright US Student Program is open to U.S. citizens, from graduating college seniors up to final-year PhD students, in any field of study.
Language requirements and program details vary by host country and Fulbright program.
Which Fulbright program is right for me?
There are several kinds of Fulbright grants available to U.S. Students, though you may only apply to one in a given year. Learn more about the different types of Fulbright grants available to U.S. students at our Fulbright program page.
Who should apply?
There is no “typical” Fulbright applicant. Drexel Fulbright finalists
and recipients have come from a range of fields, backgrounds, and

Applying for Fulbright at Drexel involves a few steps:

Step 2. Complete a Fulbright Consultation form
Complete a brief online consultation survey to learn a bit more about Fulbright, assess your basic eligibility, and get you started working with the Drexel Fellowships Office. Once you’ve completed this form, we will follow-up with you by email to provide further guidance and access to our Fulbright-Drexel Learn site, with additional resources and support for applicants.

Step 4. Campus Deadline and Interviews
Mandatory Campus Deadline: September 1, 2015 at 12noon.
You must submit a complete application by this date to be considered for a Fulbright. The campus committee will evaluate your application based on a review of your materials and a brief, 30-45 minute interview. The committee provides you with feedback and completes a campus evaluation, which is submitted with your application.

Fulbright U.S. Student Program Info Session
This info session will provide an overview of the Fulbright program and will review strategies for students planning to work on the application over the Spring/Summer terms, including while off-campus on co-op or study abroad. Note: this event has passed.

This info session will review the basics of the Fulbright Study/Research and ETA programs and consider a range of projects that students have done with the support of Fulbright grants. We will help you understand the different Fulbright grants, application process, and how to get started. A Drexel Fulbright finalist from prior years will be present to share his/her expertise.

Applying for Fulbright as a Diverse Student
As a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the US Department of State, the Fulbright US Student Program seeks and actively encourages the involvement of participants from traditionally under-represented audiences, including women, persons belonging to racial and ethnic minorities, persons living in underserved geographic locations, persons belonging to religious minorities, persons of lower socio-economic status and persons with disabilities.
With diverse students specifically in mind, this info session will review the basics of the Fulbright Study/Research and ETA programs and consider a range of projects that students have done with the support of Fulbright grants. We will help you understand the different Fulbright grants, application process, and how to get started. A Drexel Fulbright finalist from prior years will be present to share his/her expertise.

Fulbright Application Bootcamps
These special intensive workshops will help students with all elements of the application, from finding an affiliation to writing the personal statement and project proposal. To participate in an Application Bootcamp, you must fill-out our brief online Fulbright Consultation Survey.
Jumpstart Your Application
Applying for Fulbright can be daunting. Whether you’re staring down a blank page or struggling to pick a spot on the globe, this workshop can help. We will lead you through each component of the application to build a solid framework you can build on over the coming weeks. Come to this hands-on workshop for ideas on how to get started and to learn about revision strategies.

Wrap it up! / Finishing Strong
This workshop will equip you with strategies for revision, feedback, and securing strong supporting materials. Faculty, staff, and students with firsthand Fulbright experience will work with you to address missing pieces and identify elements of strength and weakness in your application before the campus review deadline.
